The Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for supporting the organisation's infrastructure, services, and application monitoring systems. The role will involve configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of monitoring tools, as well as the analysis and reporting of system performance. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of common technologies used in IT infrastructure and application monitoring.
What you will do:
Respond to monitoring alerts and perform initial troubleshooting steps;
Create and maintain accurate documentation of monitoring configurations, systems, and processes;
Collaborate with the wider IT team to ensure system availability and performance;
Analyse system and application performance data and produce regular reports;
What we expect:
Familiarity with monitoring technologies and platforms such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar;
Understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSH, etc.);
Understanding of log management and analysis tools like Splunk, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or similar;
Familiarity with operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows;
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus;
Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work as part of a team;
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
